Fuel Price Dropping in June

South African motorists can expect some relief from an ever tightening noose when the petrol fuel drops in June 2012. Speaking in Parliament on Thursday, Energy Minister Dipuo Peters, said there will be "substantial decrease" in the fuel price next month.

"We are currently witnessing a [downward] swing in the crude oil price and I'm pleased to announce that next month motorists will benefit from a substantial decrease in fuel prices in time for the June holiday driving season," said Peters, following applause from the members present. Peters did not put a figure on the decrease, but it's good news nonetheless, or is it? Petrol prices have been rising steadily for years, and although a decrease is always welcome, the tendency is towards higher fuel prices, so expect an increase in the future. Happy Driving, South Africa.
