Renault Scénic Upgrades

Renault has updated its long-running Scénic and Grand Scénic for 2012 with increased performance, better efficiency and improved equipment.

Most of the changes have been made to the front-end with re-designed headlights, bonnet, bumper and A-pillar.  For the five-seat Scénic, sleeker multi-element headlights, revised grille and chromed accents with gloss black surrounds encase the LED daytime running lights. The seven-seat Grand Scénic is a tad more elegant with wider horizontal lines on the bumper and grille with chrome detailing and new LED daytime driving lights.

Humming in the engine room is an all-new 1.6 dCi Energy turbodiesel engine that Renault claims is the world’s most powerful 1.6 diesel engine kicking out 96kW with 320Nm available at 1750rpm. The Grand Scenic Bose Edition runs on a 2.0 litre dCi Auto mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and kicks out 110kW with 360Nm of torque at 2000rpm. The 83kW 1.6 litre 16 valve petrol engine is still available in the five-seat Scénic Expression.

Even the base-line Renault Scénic Expression features a Carminat TomTom Live integrated navigation system, Blue-tooth enabled audio system, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers as well as front and rear parking sensors.

The Scénic Dynamique includes dual zone climate control, heated front seats and a hands free ignition key card. The Scénic Bose comes with a Bose sound system, a rear view camera and xenon headlights. The hill-hold function comes standard across the range.
